What We Do

Children's Rights

The U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child is the most widely and rapidly ratified human rights convention ever passed. Only two governments in the world have not ratified it: Somalia and the United States. However, the United States has ratified the Convention’s Optional Protocol on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography. In November 2007, NGOs coordinated by ECPAT-USA provided an “Alternative Report” to the U.N. Committee about what the U.S. has done to implement the Optional Protocol.
